About
John Kuyper Liberty

John Kuyper Liberty is a Christian, husband, father, writer and speaker. The Bible is his supreme guide for faith and practice, and he joyfully stands in the tradition of Reformed theology. As one who has been set free from slavery to Satan, sin, death, and men, he cares deeply about helping others see how the Bible and the gospel of Jesus Christ apply to all areas of life.

JohnKuyperLiberty.com provides resources to glorify the Triune God of the Bible, and to increase the joy of all people in him, by providing news, commentary, and other educational resources related to all things, from a Gospel-centered worldview.

Though many news and educational organizations of claim to be “unbiased,” or “neutral,” each and every organization and person has a worldview with certain presuppositions (whether they realize it or not). It is inescapable. John Kuyper Liberty is unashamed to declare his worldview: Jesus Christ is Lord.

Christ should not be kept out of anything. There is nothing ultimately secular. Everything is sacred and related to and governed by Christ: economics, family, politics, technology, business, character, law, athletics, healthcare, art, godliness, education, parenting, church, community, firearms, exercise, and more.

This is the clear teaching of the Bible. In Daniel 7, the Son of Man, Jesus, is given an everlasting kingdom. The text says “all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him” (Dan 7:14). In Psalm 2:12 God tells the non-Christian, non-Jewish kings and rulers of the earth to “kiss the Son,” which means submitting to the Lordship of Christ. Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me” (Matt 28:18). Psalm 24:1 says, “The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.” Hebrews 1:3 says that Jesus Christ “upholds the universe by the word of his power.” Christ is reconciling “to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven” (Col 1:20). Ephesians 1:21-22 says that Christ is the head of all things. Jesus is reigning and putting all of his enemies under his feet (1 Cor 15:25-26). Christians are to pray that God’s kingdom would come and his will would be done on earth, as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10).

It is the plethora of Bible verses like these that caused the Dutch theologian Abraham Kuyper to say, “There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ, who is Sovereign over all, does not cry: ‘Mine!’”[1]. For this reason, the apostle Paul could say in Colossians 3:17, “Whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus.” Indeed, we are to do all to the glory of God (1 Cor 10:31).

Jesus Christ came to proclaim liberty to the captives (Luke 4:18). Where Christ and his gospel go, liberty follows. Those who trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation will be set free; free from sin, from false worldviews, from the deception of the enemy, and from bondage to men and big civil governments: “You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men” (1 Cor 7:23; cf. 1 Pet 2:16; 1 Tim 2:1-2; Gal 5:1, 13; John 8:32; 2 Cor 3:17; Exod 2:23; 6:6; 13:3; 20:2; Deut 5:6; Jer 34:8-22; Isa 61:1).
