Who are the most manly men?

What makes a man "manly"? There is a lot of confusion in our culture.

Men, do you want to be truly manly?

Recognize your brokenness and sin before the one true God. Trust in Christ alone and seek satisfaction in him. Speak words of grace and truth in love and gentleness. Preach the gospel to yourself often. Rest in the righteousness of Jesus. Listen to God by knowing your Bible and speak to him regularly in prayer. Grow in head knowledge by reading solid theology. Defend the truth of God's word, but be on guard against pride and equating spiritual maturity with head knowledge. Lay your life down to love your family. Disciple your wife's heart and serve around the house. Enjoy your children and train them patiently in the ways of the Lord in all areas of life. Give them a Christ-centered education. Confess your sin to your family and speak often of the cross and love of Christ. Lead in family worship every day, teaching them how to sing, pray, read the Bible and love the law and the gospel. Make involvement in and service to a gospel-centered church your priority. Fight the fire of lust and all sin with the greater fire of happiness in God. Show respect and honor to all women. Resist hypocrisy and false bravado with other men by the truths of your acceptance in Christ by your majestic Father in heaven. Surround yourself with a band of Christ-exalting brothers who know your sins and temptations and exhort you in truth and the word of God's grace, which is able to build you up. Invite your neighbors who do not yet know Christ into your home and life. Serve and love them and winsomely tell them the good news. Work extremely hard in your occupation and take advantage of career opportunities, but don't center your life on your career. Use your strength to protect against unjust aggressors. Be eager to forgive and over-look offense. Appreciate and recognize the importance of God glorifying art, which reflects the beauty of the Great Artist. Love and pursue even those who have offended you, as God in Christ did for you. Take care of your physical body, but don't idolize it. Suffer well with an eye towards your eternal inheritance in glory. Utilize entertainment moderately and for the glory of Christ. Be an intentional planner, but hold your plans loosely under the Lord's perfect plan. Use and learn how to manage money for God's glory and your Christ-centered joy. Vote according to God's word in elections and be involved in the culture under the Lordship of Christ.

Above all else, pursue humility before God. Be the chief repenter in your home and elsewhere when you inevitably fail in living a manly life. Keep the truths of his grace and his gifted righteousness in front of you at all times. Seek to see and savor the glory of the perfect Man, Jesus Christ, in his gospel love for his people.
